ABOUT THE IMAGE: Step into nostalgia with this original hand-painted production cel setup featuring the beloved Rice Krispies mascot: Crackle. This rare and vibrant 12-field cel setup was used in animated cereal commercials, a staple of childhood during Saturday mornings and weekday afternoons. This piece comes with a certificate of authenticity.
ABOUT THE MASCOTS: Corporate promotional materials portray Snap, Crackle, and Pop as having a sibling-like bond. Snap, the eldest, is a practical problem solver; Crackle, the playful "middle child," is the jokester; and Pop, the youngest, is both mischievous and clumsy, often stealing the spotlight. In the 1950s, the trio briefly included a fourth gnome, Pow, who symbolized the "explosive" nutritional value of Rice Krispies.
ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original Production Cels and Drawings are unique works of art integral to the making of an animated film or television series. These pieces are meticulously hand-painted by skilled studio artists onto sheets of celluloid acetate. Once painted, they are photographed against a backdrop painting to capture a single frame of the final production.
